20100508-ShuiHau-KeungShan-TaiO

This morning, we went to Shui Hau wetland for a visit. Actually, we wanted to see horse-shoe crabs!! But a pity we saw many shore creatures EXCEPT horse-shoe crabs!!

But there are mangrove everywhere, some are blooming with violet flowers too!!

Besides the sea animals, we had a chance to experience the friendship between cows!! What a miracle it was!!

We saw many cows near a village in Shui Hau. One of them was lying on the traffic road. It's very dangerous and so we waved our hands to tell the cattle going back to the pavement.

But the cattle ignored our gestures and kept on lying there. Then, its friend nearby suddenly walked to the cattle, kept on opening and closing its mouth, just like telling the cattle to leave that dangerous place.

The cattle just looked at its friend but still ignored. So its friend stood next to the cattle and protected it by its big body.

When cars and trucks came nearby, the drivers had to stop and turned their cars away from the cattle.

After leaving Shui Hau, we went to a place Ling Yan Monastery, Lower Keung Shan Hang Hau village to have a look.

This village is NOT showing on any maps, and rarely visited by outsiders.

Because this village is very very far away, now only a few villagers still living in, and they are all living near Tai O road.

For Lower Keung Shan, except the monks, this maybe the only village with people living in. For Upper Keung Shan, most people living there are the monks also.

There used to be a fruit garden in Upper Keung Shan, but it seems already abandoned.

Lower Keung Shan Hang Hau Village was nameless. Even today, it is NOT showing on official maps. Its name is coming from its location~ It is located in Lower part of Keung Shan, near the main stream mouth (Hang Hau). We know this village from old books and old newspaper records.
